Visiting The Farm ~ Our Spring Field Trip

Last week, the children at our little yellow school visited a local farm.  Spring is such an exciting time at the farm and we couldn't wait to go!

Our students and their parents and grandparents arriving at school for the big trip!

We are excited to visit the farm!

At last the school bus arrived.

The children are all on board.  Time for the parents to board the bus.

Let's Go!

Once we arrived at the farm, we met our leaders.  They had so many wonderful things planned for all of us.

Our leaders took us to the barn to visit with the animals.  We saw some baby animals that were born recently.  They were so cute!

We learned all about milking cows.  Although milking is now automated, we took turns milking a cow model the old fashioned way.

We had a lovely wagon ride.

The most exciting part of our morning was watching a farmer shear a sheep!  The sheep was so calm.

Guess who's getting a haircut?

At the end of the morning we spent time in the hayloft.  Our shoes and clothes got full of hay but it was so fun!

Thank you to all the parents and grandparents who joined us on our trip to the farm.  It was nice to have so many dads join us. It was a perfect day.

A Hippity Hoppity Easter

Easter preparations were in full swing at our little yellow school this past week.  The children had fun decorating
eggs ...

and making Easter baskets.

On Wednesday evening, one of the teachers found a surprise in the upstairs classroom.  Who could it possibly be from?

After our Music class on Thursday morning, Mrs. P. opened the letter and read it to the children.  It was from the Easter bunny! Here is the letter.  (You can click on the image to make it larger.)

We handed out the Easter eggs just the way the Easter Bunny suggested.  Six year old I. is our oldest student.  She quickly came up, found her egg and chose another.  We continued until all the children had an egg.

Six year old I. was the first.

It was so very nice of the Easter Bunny to hop over and leave us some treats.  We aren't quite sure how he managed to get everything up the stairs though.  The children and the teachers also had Easter treats to hand out.

Wishing everyone a very Happy Easter long weekend!
